Robbery, shooting at Highway 30 motel

An early-morning hold-up and shooting is under investigation at a motel in the Tama County town of Toledo.

Toledo Police say the shooting happened about three o’clock this morning at the Designer Inn and Suites along Highway 30 in Toledo.

A man demanded money from the clerk, then shot the clerk in the leg before fleeing. The clerk was first taken to the Marshalltown Hospital then transferred to Des Moines, where the clerk’s listed in good condition.

The search for the suspect is underway. DCI Agents are assisting Toledo police in the investigation.
