Ottumwa woman pleads not guilty to murder charge

August 23, 2007 By admin

The suspect in a fatal shooting last week in southeast Iowa has pleaded not guilty. 50-year-old Sheri Locke of Ottumwa is charged with first degree murder in the death of 65-year-old Charles Denham, also of Ottumwa. She entered the not guilty plea Wednesday. Locke was arrested last Friday in Des Moines.

Police believe she shot Denham several times at her home on August 15th. Police have said the two had a personal and business relationship, but did not elaborate or talk about a possible motive.
