Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson is in Iowa, with stops in six cities planned over three days to woo Iowa Caucus-goers.
Last night in a speech broadcast on his campaign website, Thompson said he’s in the race "for the right reasons." "I love my country and I’m concerned about its future," Thompson said. According to Thompson, very serious challenges are ahead for American that will prove both difficult and dangerous.
"Grave issues affecting the safety and security of the American people and our economic well-being," Thompson said.
Thompson will appear at a campaign rally in Des Moines this afternoon and in Council Bluffs later tonight. Tomorrow, he’ll be in Sioux City and Mason City. On Saturday, he’ll hold campaign events in Cedar Rapids and Davenport.
