Female UNI student fends off attacker

September 10, 2007 By admin

A female student at the University of Northern Iowa was assaulted late last night on the UNI campus.

It happened at about 11 o’clock Sunday night near UNI’s West Gym. Officials say the student was able to fend off the attacker and escape. The woman, whose name is not being released, said her attacker was a white man, about 6 feet tall, with brown hair.

Campus officials issued a reminder to students to walk together in groups at night on campus, or call UNI’s Public Safety Department for an escort.
