Columbus Junction girl dies after bike hits truck

October 19, 2007 By admin

A girl on a bicycle was killed after colliding with a semi-truck in eastern Iowa’s Louisa County. State troopers say 13-year-old Tanya Beruman of Columbus Junction went down a hill in town on her bike, failed to stop at an intersection, rolled into the side of the semi and was run over by the truck’s rear wheels.

The accident happened about 5:15 P.M. Thursday. Beruman was pronounced dead at the scene. The trucker, an Illinois man, was not charged.
