Arrest made in two-year-old Central Iowa murder case

October 22, 2007 By admin

Louis Woolheater Authorities in central Iowa say they have made an arrest in a more than two year old homicide investigation.

The Iowa DCI, Altoona Police, and Polk County Sheriff’s Office say 42-year-old Louis Woolheater of Altoona is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 55 year old Lance Morningstar.

Morningstar’s body was discovered in a wooded area off of Highway 65, near Altoona, on February 6, 2005. The Ankeny man had been reported missing that October and was last seen at a Des Moines bar.

Woolheater had been jailed in Texas on federal weapons charges. Police say additional arrests are expected.
