Two people hit near broken-down semi along I-80; one man killed

December 3, 2007 By admin

Traffic on eastbound Interstate-80 in west central Iowa has been slowed by a tragic mid-afternoon accident. One man has been killed and another severely injured.

Authorities say a broken-down trucker was being assisted by a tow-truck driver and other were both hit by a passing vehicle. KJAN’s Ric Hanson is on the scene, reporting that the accident happened at mile marker 72, which is about halfway between Anita and Adair. No names have been released and Hanson reports traffic is moving, but very slowly, through the area as officers process the scene.
