Iowa State wins and prepares to head to Las Vegas

December 20, 2007 By admin

The Iowa State Cyclones used a 28-4 run that covered a portion of both the first and second half and cruised to a 79-55 win over Texas Southern in Ames on Wednesday night. Cyclone coach Greg McDermott says they had to rely on their starting five alot, as they did early and then had to go back to them.

Jiri Hubalek had career highs with 27 points and 15 rebounds as ISU dominated the undersized Tigers. McDermott says they had a good inside out game and that makes it much easier to hit the threes. Iowa State improves to 6-4. Texas Southern had only eight players and falls to 1-9.
