Iowa visits Michigan

January 18, 2008 By admin

Iowa needs some other players to score when they visit Michigan in the Big Ten. Hawkeye leading scorer Justin Johnson managed only eight shots in Wednesday night’s loss against Purdue and was held to seven points. Lickliter says the defense isn’t leaving Johnson, so he’s not getting many open looks. He says Johnson is going to have to shoot a high percentage on the looks he does get.

Lickliter says Johnson can do a number of things to help his team even when the opponent is trying to prevent him from getting shots. He says there are nights when shooters have to spread the floor and set screens and when you do that, other things will open up. Both teams are 1-4 in the Big Ten. Iowa is 8-10 overall. Michigan is 5-12.
