West Des Moines man dies in accident on icy road

February 26, 2008 By admin

Authorities say icy roads are to blame for an accident in western Iowa that killed a West Des Moines man.  The Iowa State Patrol says 38-year-old Jason Ross Martin died at an Omaha hospital following the crash that occurred south of Underwood, in Pottawattamie County, at around 5:20 p.m. Monday.

Officials say Martin was traveling west on Interstate 80 in a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, when the car went out of control on the icy road and slid into a ditch, where it struck a tree.
