ISU women upset Kansas State in overtime

March 12, 2008 By admin

Alison Lacey made a free-throw after being fouled on a full-court drive and lay-in with 4 seconds left to help Iowa State down 15th rated and top-seeded Kansas State, 66-65, in overtime Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.

Lacey scored six points in the final 11 seconds, to help the Cyclones erase a six-point overtime deficit with under a minute remaining. ISU, which improves to 20-11 on the season, reaches the semifinal round of the Big 12 Tournament for the seventh time in the last 11 seasons.

The Cyclones will face the winner of the Texas A&M-Missouri game Thursday at 6 p.m.
