Drake hopes for sellout of NCAA Championships

May 23, 2008 By admin

Drake officials are hoping to sellout all four days of next month’s NCAA Track and Field Championships. Des Moines will host the event for the first time in 38 years and Drake associate AD Mark Kostek says while ticket sales have been "brisk" he expects a big run after the qualifiers are determined after next weekend’s regional competition.

He says they have four regional championships and athletes won’t know for awhile that they’ve qualified. Kostek says once the qualifiers are known, they’ll be inundated with ticket requests. Kostek advises local fans to get their tickets before the regionals are held.

Kostek says getting them early will mean getting better quality seats, and they are anticipating it will be a sell out. The NCAA meet is June 11th through the 14th.
