Gladbrook-Reinbeck team enters postseason on a roll

July 2, 2008 By admin

The Gladbrook-Reinbeck baseball team enters the post-season on a roll. The Rebels are ranked fifth in class 2A in the latest Radio Iowa/Coaches Association poll and stand 28-2, and winners of 21 straight.

Coach Caleb Hamer says this team is a lot different that last year’s team, and has been a surprise. He says the hitting and pitching has been better than what he thought it would be.

Hamer says his team has come to play virtually every night out. The Rebels last loss came way back on June seventh. He says they are bound and determined to get runs on the board in the first inning, getting ahead and staying ahead.

The Rebels open district tournament action on Saturday and they will be tested right away with a matchup against ninth ranked Hudson.
