Fort Dodge teens held for several burglaries

September 15, 2008 By admin

Fort Dodge police say two teenagers have confessed to 39 burglaries in five cities. Fort Dodge assistant police chief Kevin Doty said officers seized $10,000 worth of stolen items in one of the homes of the teens.

There were a total of nine burglaries in Fort Dodge plus Ames, Buena Vista County and other locations across Webster County. Police did not identify the suspects. A Fort Dodge woman called police September 3rd to report a burglary at her residence. Police waited in the area and found the two teens walking back to their car.

After questioning Fort Dodge police said the two confessed to the burglaries. Authorities are now trying to match the stolen items to individual crimes.
