Call center with 200 jobs planned for Marshalltown

October 29, 2008 By admin

A Cedar Rapids company plans to open a call center in Marshalltown that will create up to 200 jobs. The founder of Access Direct, Thomas Cardella, says the new Marshalltown center will be different from typical call centers.

He says it will be a combination of inbound customer service jobs and outbound customer service jobs. Cardella says the focus will be on Fortune 500 companies. Cardella says they do work for customers in the retail sector, the financial services sector, the insurance sector, educational services and a few other sectors. The company will employ 185 persons and 15 management personnel.

They will locate in the Marshall Town Center. Cardella says 50% of the work is full-time days in the business-to-busines world and full-time swing shifts in the business-to-consumer world.

The company already has locations in Cedar Rapids, Coralville and Keokuk. The company employs 710 people at those call centers. The Marshalltown call center would open in 2009.
