Newton CVB helping race fans find places to stay

June 18, 2009 By admin

The Newton Convention and Visitors Bureau will try to help race fans find a place to stay for this weekend’s Iowa Corn Indy 250.

Executive director Linda Bacon says are motels will be full. Bacon says sometimes people don’t remember to make reservations early, so they’ve asked the hotels to refer the people to the bureau and they try to match people up with their needs.

Bacon says race fans will be given the name of a resident who has volunteered to open their home or yard. If they have an R-V, then Bacon says they can give them names of places to park. She says the YMCA also has spaces that provide another option.
