Rally by Iowa women falls short

December 3, 2009 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa Hawkeye women had a second half rally fall short in a 72-67 loss to Boston College last night in Iowa City as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Hawks were beaten soundly on the glass and coach Lisa Bluder says that was the difference. Bluder says they were outrebounded by 15 and they gave them too many second chance points.

Iowa trailed by 14 points in the second half before staging a furious rally and Bluder says she was proud of the effort. Bluder says if they box out better then they have a chance to win the game.

The Hawkeyes drop to 5-3 on the season.
