Davenport woman identified as accident victim

May 18, 2010 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A Davenport woman has died in a weekend accident in East Moline, Illinois. It was a car-pedestrian accident. It happened shortly before midnight Saturday. Police say 44-year-old Julie Hayek was crossing Avenue of the Cities at a place where there is no crosswalk or traffic light. Police say witnesses tell them Hayek tripped and fell in front of a car driven by a Moline man.

Hayek received head, neck and chest injuries and died at the scene. East Moline police say no charges are anticipated against the driver of the car.
