Missing Clermont woman found dead in vehicle

Authorities at crash site where body of 19-year-old Elizabeth Hemesath was found.

A young woman initially reported missing was found dead today in northeast Iowa. The family of 19-year-old Elizabeth Hemesath of Clermont reported her missing Tuesday night after last seeing her that morning.

Hemesath’s mother spotted her daughter’s car this morning in a deep ravine off a Fayette County road south of Elgin. Hemesath was found dead inside the vehicle.

 The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
