Body found near Underwood

October 22, 2010 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Authorities in southwest Iowa are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday afternoon south of the town of Underwood. Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sergeant Duane Riche says a farmer discovered the body.

Riche says the body was partially in a tent in a field behind the Oriental Trading Company. The body was badly decomposed, making initial attempts at identification impossible. Officials are awaiting autopsy results from the State Medical Examiner’s office before releasing any further information.
