Drake coach expects team to bounce back from last second loss

November 12, 2010 By Todd Kimm

Drake football coach Chris Creighton expects his team to bounce back with a solid effort in their season finale at home against Butler. The Bulldogs saw their Pioneer Football League title hopes come to an end on the final of the game last weekend when Dayton connected on a 37 yards touchdown pass for a 31-25 win.

Creighton says whether it’s a great win or big loss they try to flush everything Monday afternoon after the team meeting, and he says they have plenty of motivation for this week with senior week and playing Butler at home.

It will be the final game for a small group of eight Bulldog seniors. Creighton says they are Drake football to him as they were here when he took over and have endured and perservered through it all. Creighton there is nothing that compares to a players last football game.

He says there is no “bar league” tackle football or intercompany league that is the same as playing tackle football. Creighton says being part of a team that has passionately pursued being the best is hard to find again.

Drake is 6-4 overall.
