The Iowa State Patrol has released the name of a pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle in eastern Iowa. The call came in to LeClaire police a little after 9:30 Sunday night. They were told a man had been hit by a car on U.S. Highway 67, just west of Interstate 80.

The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Brent H. Christie of LeClaire. Initially a medical helicopter was called, but Christie was so badly injured emergency workers decided to they couldn’t wait. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died.
