Cyclone softball set back by weather problems

March 21, 2011 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa State softball team hopes to open the home season on Tuesday with a doubleheader against Creighton. The Cyclones have won their last five games but the streak coach Stacy Gemeinhardt-Cesler is most concerned about stands at seven.

That’s how many games I.S.U. had postponed due to weather last week, including an entire tournament at Stanford.Gemeinhardt-Cesler says they were snowed out, early and then lost the games in California to rain.

Gemeinhardt-Cesler says the Cyclones need some games right now. It has been eight days since their last game. She says it’s a hard thing to control when you are not able to practice.

Iowa State is 14-8 on the season.
