Clinton Humane Society offers online “kitten playroom”

You can now play with kittens at an eastern Iowa pet shelter without leaving your desk, thanks to a new cat-cam.

The Clinton Humane Society is now one of five in the world, and three in the U.S., to have an on-line kitten playroom with robotic toys you control from your computer.

Clinton Humane Society spokeswoman Tammy Olsen says they’re excited to launch this new technology to allow people to play with the kittens in real time.

“It’s all about the kittens and you’ll have a few laughs, depending on what feathery toys we have on,” Olsen says.

“You interact live with the cats. You can move three toys in the playroom and the cats just pounce on them. You’ll have a few laughs and our shelter cats will have some fun, and hopefully, find a new home.”

The site went online Monday and they’re already getting people from around the country playing with the cats. To visit the Clinton kittens, head to: www.clintonhumanesociety.org.
