Mediapolis faces huge task against Iowa City Regina

November 7, 2011 By Radio Iowa Contributor

The fourth-ranked Mediapolis football team will look to do what no one else has done since 2009: beat Iowa City Regina. The Bulldogs and top-ranked Regals will square off tonight in a Class 2A quarterfinal match up in a rematch from last year’s second round, where Mediapolis got shut out 59-0.

Mediapolis coach Brian Borrison says it was a good learning experience and his team is not afraid of playing this team. He says they understand to get where you want to be, you have to play great teams. Borrison says his team will try to slow down an offense that’s averaging 50 points a game. He says they are very well coached and do a good job with their run scheme.

Offensively, Mediapolis will have the tall task of moving the football against a Regals team that allows just 5.5 points a contest. He says the offensive line has to protect the quarterback and then open some holes for the run game.

Both teams head in at 11-0.
