Drake rallies for win over Bradley

January 11, 2012 By Todd Kimm

The Drake Bulldogs erased ten point leads in each half and rallied for an 82-74 victory over Bradley in Missouri Valley Conference play as the Bulldogs snapped a three game losing skid.

Drake coach Mark Phelps, on his post game show on KRNT in Des Moines, says it was nice to battle back and he thought they started to play better defense and that was the key. Phelps says the Bulldogs did a good job against Bradley’s changing defenses.

“The whole key was to try and get to the paint regardless of what defense they were playing, and I thought we did a good job of that,” Phelps says.

Ben Simons led Drake with 21 points and Rayvonte Rice added 19 as Drake improves to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the Valley.
