Des Moines police officer arrested on drug charges

April 25, 2012 By Dar Danielson

Brandon Singleton

A Des Moines police officer was arrested and charged with meth and marijuana possession Tuesday after he allegedly hit a parked car with his squad car and drove off.

Twenty-eight-year-old officer Brandon Singleton was arrested after calling for service on his damaged squad car and a supervisor noticed the damage did not match his story about what had happened.  Drugs were found in his squad car.

Singleton was also charged with hit-and-run traffic charge for the accident. He has been with the department since 2007 and is on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
