Luther opens softball tourney in Virginia

May 17, 2012 By Todd Kimm

The Luther College softball team opens the division three softball championships in Salem, Virginia on Friday against Pacific Lutheran. It is Luther’s third straight trip to the nationals.

Luther coach Renae Hartl says six of the eight teams are new, and she says having all or her starters back lets them go in with the mindset that they are going to win some games. Hartl says she does not know much about the other teams in the field, other than all of the teams will be tough.
