Atlantic man dies in Cass County accident

August 9, 2012 By Radio Iowa Contributor

An accident early this morning south of Wiota in Cass County claimed the life of an Atlantic man. Cass County Sheriff Darby McLaren said they received a call at around 6:50 a.m. about a rollover accident at 680th Street and Lansing Road.

When authorities arrived, they discovered Nicholas Baier was dead at the scene. Baier was 23-years-old.

McLaren said their initial investigation revealed the vehicle went out of control before it crashed and rolled.

“The vehicle left the road slightly to the north, and then it appears he overcorrected and went into the south ditch rolling,” McLaren said.

Baier was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
