North Liberty man dies in Clinton County accident

August 16, 2012 By Matt Kelley

An eastern Iowa man was killed in a traffic accident Wednesday night in Clinton County. The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Highway 30 just east of DeWitt.

The Iowa State Patrol reports 48-year-old Michael Alan Walton of North Liberty lost control of his car and struck another westbound vehicle. Walton’s car entered the median and then rolled several times across the eastbound lanes and ended up in a ditch.

Walton was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say he was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the other vehicle, 50-year-old James Reafsnider of Goose Lake, was not injured.
