More information released on man’s death in Clive

November 19, 2012 By Matt Kelley

Police in a Des Moines suburb have released more information about a “suspicious death” investigation. Fourty-nine-year-old Randy Warrens of Clive was found unresponsive in a parking lot near his apartment complex at 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Police said Warrens had a head injury and called his death “suspicious” because they’ve been unable to locate anyone who witnessed what happened. Investigators said he may’ve been the victim of an assault. A preliminary autopsy report shows Warrens died of a skull fracture that was consistent with a fall to the pavement and preliminary toxicology reports indicate that alcohol may have been a factor.

Clive police continue to treat Warrens’ death as suspicious, but add “foul play” is not currently suspected.
