Iowa man allegedly murdered father before fatal crash

February 4, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Authorities in southern Minnesota say a northern Iowa man who died in a crash after a police chase murdered his elderly father before the pursuit. The Southern Minnesota Regional Coroner’s Office says 86-year-old Dennis Seberson of Austin was murdered early Friday outside his home as the result of blunt force trauma.

Authorities say the suspect in Seberson’s murder was his 46-year-old son, Craig Seberson of Meservey. Craig Seberson was killed after losing control of his vehicle near Waseca after a 50-mile chase by sheriff’s deputies through three Minnesota counties.

Minnesota authorities continue to investigate the murder, the chase and fatal crash.
