Johnston woman injured in February accident dies

April 2, 2013 By Dar Danielson

A central Iowa woman has died from injuries suffered in an accident in mid-February. Police in the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale say 30-year-old Tara Leitzinger of Johnston was seriously injured in a car/semi crash on an Interstate 80/35 overpass in Urbandale on February 16th.

Leitzinger was taken to a Des Moines hospital and police report that she died Sunday from injuries caused by the accident. Urbandale police say they are still investigating the cause of the accident and have not released any other details.

The driver of the semi, 46-year-old Henry Hassell of Deptford, New Jersey, was not injured in the accident.
