Hamilton County officials looking for man missing since Wednesday

May 20, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

A search is underway in Hamilton County for a missing man. Forty-six-year-old Kenneth Eugene Heckman of Jewell was reported missing to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department after he was last Wednesday morning in Ames on a yellow New Holland backhoe.

Heckman was wearing a ball cap, a white or red t-shirt and blue jeans. A pickup truck belonging to Heckman was discovered in a farm field.

An air search for Heckman was underway this weekend through parts of rural Hamilton County in trying to locate his whereabouts. Heckman failed to show up for a planned birthday party last Friday.

Family members are asking anyone with information on finding Heckman to contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department at 515-832-9500.
