North Polk wins extra inning game in 2A

Second ranked North Polk scored a run in the top of the 13th inning to get by Albia 2-1 in a Class 2A quarterfinal game at the state baseball tournament that lasted more than three and a half hours.

Fourth ranked Carroll Kuemper scored three runs in the bottom of the first enroute to a 5-1 win over Spirit Lake in another 2A quarterfinal.

The Class 3A quarterfinals get underway today.
