Receiver leaves Iowa football team

August 5, 2013 By Matt Kelley

The University of Iowa confirmed over the weekend that receiver Cameron Wilson has left the Hawkeye football team and received a release from his scholarship last month. Wilson said at the time he planned to transfer to another school.

The redshirt freshman from Ohio was charged over the weekend with OWI — his second alcohol-related offense in Iowa City this summer. He was charged on July 3rd with possession of alcohol under the legal age.

In the Hawkeye’s final spring scrimmage game, Wilson caught 10 passes.
