December 2, 2013 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Authorities in southwest Iowa say two boys, ages eight and nine, died over the weekend after falling through the ice in a farm pond. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says the accident at 1623 Vanilla Avenue in rural Prescott, was reported to 9-1-1 just after 5:30 P.M. on Saturday.

Sheriff’s Deputies along with Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene. The unidentified victims were located under the ice. They were flown by helicopter to a hospital.
