December 18, 2013 By O. Kay Henderson

Five Iowa men have been sentenced to a combined total of 43 years in prison for sharing child porn over the internet.

Investigators from the Homeland Security agency tracked the trading of child pornography pictures and videos on file sharing networks. The investigation culminated in prosecutions and convictions in five separate cases.

Francisco Zayas of Marshalltown has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Monroe Wardlow of Grinnell has been sentenced to eight years; Enrique Guzman of Osceola to nearly seven years; William Trimble, Jr. of Albia got five years and Michael Hanold of Creston was sentenced to four years in prison.

Each of the five will be required to register as a sex offender after they’re released from prison.
