Oran man given 110 years on child exploitation, pornography charges

February 4, 2014 By Dar Danielson

A 76-year-old Oran man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced to 110 years on child exploitation and pornography charges. A jury found Benton Stong guilty in September of one count of sexual exploitation of children and four counts of possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors showed evidence at Stong’s trial that he enticed four children to engage in sexually explicit conduct so he could take pictures and video of them. The evidence also showed Stong had possessed child pornography at his home between 2009 and 2012.

The Fayette County Sheriff said at the time of Stong’s arrest that the crimes involved boys under the age of 12 and they began investigating after a tip from the public.
