Cyclones look for tough matchup against West Virginia

February 10, 2014 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa State Cyclones are on the road in the Big-12 to take on West Virginia. The Cyclones are 6-4 in the league race after getting a Big 12 record 48 points from Melvin Ejim in a victory over TCU. “You just look at all the great players who have gone through this league…nobody’s ever put up that kind of production,” ISU coach Fred Hoiberg says.

Hoiberg says West Virginia will provide a tough matchup. “I see an extremely confident team. A team that’s playing with a lot of freedom,” Hoiberg says.  The Mountaineers are 6-5 in the league race and coach Bob Huggins says the Cyclones will be tough to guard. He says Hoiberg does “an unbelievable job” with the team, which he says spreads you out and passes the ball better than anybody in the country.

It is a six o’ clock tip off in Morgantown.
