Casey’s buys 24 stores in North Dakota and Minnesota

February 13, 2014 By Matt Kelley

An Iowa based convenience store chain is moving into new territory with the purchase of two dozen stores. Casey’s General Stores announced it is buying 24 Stop-n-Go stores. Twenty of the shops are in North Dakota and four in Minnesota.

The acquisitions are expected to be completed in May. Casey’s President and CEO Robert Myers says the purchases bring the Ankeny-based convenience store chain into a relatively new market and he hopes the deal serves as a springboard for more acquisitions as the company looks to expand in both states.

Casey’s currently has more than 1,770 stores in 14 states.
