Iowa State on the road, Iowa at home in conference basketball

February 21, 2014 By Todd Kimm

The Iowa State Cyclones are on the road in the Big 12 on Saturday to take on TCU. The Cyclones are in a three way tie for third at 8-5 while the Horned Frogs are winless in 13 conference games.

ISU coach Fred Hoiberg says TCU has played a lot of teams well, including his team in the first game, and they will have to stay focused and win. The all the games get bigger at this time of year. “And that’s got to be our approach here as we close out before tournament time,” Hoiberg says.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are at home tomorrow to take on Wisconsin. After having Tuesday’s game at Indiana postponed the Hawkeyes have played one game in the last 14 days.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery says they respect how they’ve been playing and he believes both teams will play hard. The Badgers are 8-5 in the league race and have played well the past couple of weeks.

“They have so many weapons, whether it be from the 3 point line or in the post. They’ve just got different ways that they can score and they’ve got experience, they don;t make a ton of mistakes,”McCaffery says.
