The start times of several girls high school soccer regional tournament games have been moved up due to expected severe weather. Jason Eslinger with the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union says the schools are concerned about the games and people getting caught in a storm on the way home, so they are moving the games.

Eslinger says there are rules in place if severe weather hits during a game. “A game is considered official if one full half is played,” Elsinger says. He says if a team is leading at the half or in the second half and they can’t play the rest of the game, it is considered over.

If the game is tied or does not reach halftime it will be completed the following day from the point it was halted.
