The last of the eight students who escaped from the Eldora State Training School back in April has been caught. The Iowa Department of Human Services announced the student was taken into custody in Scott County on Wednesday. The youth is being held at a detention center facility awaiting a court hearing. The juvenile will face additional charges.

Last April, the eight students ran from staff and into a nearby wooded area as they were being escorted from the gymnasium to their cottage at the training school. Police and staff found five students within an hour. Two others were found within days in Cedar Rapids.

The Eldora training school has 130 beds for boys aged 12 to 18 who are considered to be seriously delinquent.
