Clive police make arrest in murder

August 25, 2014 By Dar Danielson

Police in the Des Moines suburb of Clive have arrested a suspect in a murder investigation. Police charged 49-year-old Steven Jonas of Clive with first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Zachary Paulsen. Paulsen’s body was found on a recreational trail Saturday near a business owned by his family.

Police say the responding officer noted something suspicious around the body and called investigators. An autopsy has been scheduled on Paulsen’s body and police are expected to release more details later today on the arrest of Jonas.
