Rural Mason City woman attacked by 3 dogs

April 7, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Sheriff vehicleA rural Mason City woman was treated and released from the hospital after being knocked down and bitten by three dogs.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says the incident happened in the Winnebago Heights area just north of the Mason City city limits at about 1:10 yesterday afternoon.

Deputy Brian Koob says 29-year-old Stefanie Murray was outside her residence when three Jack Russell terrier mixes weighing 20 to 30 pounds knocked her down and bit her numerous times. The owners of the dogs were Logan Craig and Joyce Lansaw, who are neighbors to Murray. Murray was transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, where she was treated and released.

Koob says the incident remains under investigation.
