Marshalltown football coach takes job at Grinnell

April 28, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Aaron Shipley is the new head football coach at Grinnell. He spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Marshalltown. He says Grinnell is a “fantastic school district” and a great community.

Shipley says one of the reasons for making the move is the location as he lives about 10 minutes away from Grinnell and has been commuting to Marshalltown. He also has family in the Grinnell area.

Shipley was an assistant at Marshalltown before taking over the program and learned quickly that being a head coach is a unique opportunity. “You’re faced with setting the culture and setting the tempo and the one for the whole entire program. That’s a big task and it’s something I take very seriously,” Shipley says.
