Panthers eye strong finish

The 19th ranked Northern Iowa Panthers have fought their way back above the .500 mark and will be in search of their fourth straight victory this weekend when they visit a Missouri State team that is 1-8 overall and still winless in conference play.

UNI coach Mark Farley says with their playoff hopes hanging in the balance the Panthers can’t afford a letdown.

“So we have to do a great job of being prepared for this game and mentally ready for this game so we can play with the same energy because we can’t go down there and regress”, said Farley. “The challenge will be to find a way to get better in all three phases of the game and I think we can.”

The Panthers have won three straight after a 59-13 victory over Indiana State but need to win their final two games to make the FCS playoffs.
