Iowa City police investigate school threat link to others in the U.S.

January 21, 2016 By Matt Kelley

Police car lightsIowa City police are investigating whether a bomb threat at West High School could be related to numerous others called into schools across the country.

West High officials say the threat was phoned in Tuesday morning via a computer-generated voice, prompting the school to be evacuated and classes canceled. No bomb was found, but police say the call was similar to numerous threats reported in other states Tuesday.

Schools in Florida, Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania also received threats by suspicious, robocalls.
