Donahue and Morris claim hurdles titles

April 29, 2016 By Todd Kimm

DrakeRelaysPleasant Valley’s Carly Donahue finally got her individual title at the Drake Relays. Donahue took the lead early and held on to win the girls 100 meter hurdles.

“I’ve never had an individual win here at Drake”, said Donahue. “I have been a part of some relays which is cool but accomplishing this on my own is something I have been working on the past couple of years.”

Donahue ran 14.24 seconds to lower the personal record she set in the prelims.

Joah Wallace capped a big morning for Cedar Rapids Prairie. The junior overcame a slow start to win the boys 110 meter hurdles in a time of 14.35 seconds.

“All of my hard work finally paid off”, said Wallace. “This is exactly what I wanted”

The Cedar Rapids Prairie boys set a new Drake record by winning the boys distance medley relay.
